Today is my first day of internship, first day working at Cameron Highlands Resort. I woke up at 7.30am today. Prepared everything and went to resort by shuttle bus.
When I reach resort, 1 of my colleague, Po Yi led me to uniform room to take uniform. After take my uniform, I changed it. Then, we went to housekeeping room and wait for briefing. Manager of Housekeeping, Mr. xxx brief us about today’s room status and room to clean. He arranges me to follow 2 seniors who are Richard and Wan. 3 of us need to clean 12 rooms today, which include 4 suits and 8 deluxe and standard rooms.
We prepared the housekeeping trolley before go to clean rooms. After that, we start to clean rooms. The first room we cleaned was a connected room. I was confused on everything. How to start? Where to start? Luckily, Richard shown me and tell me what to do. He asked me to made bed and he will wash the toilet. After made the bed, I mop the glasses and furniture. After 45 minutes, we had cleaned 2 rooms.
After that we continue to clean other rooms. Suddenly, we received a call from Front Office said that the room is occupied and we need to clean it within 15 minutes. Wan call to our assistant manager and tell him about this. Assistant manager brought another 3 guys came and helped us because it’s a 2 bedrooms suit. Luckily, we cleaned it within 15 minutes and we leaved the room once we cleaned it because the guest was moving in. Then, we continue to clean other rooms again.
Finally, 5pm. But we still haven finish clean up room and we left 1 room which haven vacuum. Wan asked me and Richard back to housekeeping room and he will vacuum the room. Me and Richard back to housekeeping room and help to count and pack the linen and bed sheet. After that, we are allowed to back home.
End of today’s work day. I was so tired today. First day of working day then have to clean so many rooms. L
